I'd like to use clean URLs, and put the .htaccess parameters in the Apache config file (httpd.conf) instead of using the .htaccess file. This is not a problem as I have full access to the httpd.conf file.
Questions:
1) one of the reasons for doing this is my understanding that using httpd.conf instead of .htaccess is better performance-wise. Can anybody confirm that this is correct ?
Can anyone help with info on installing the profile.module; I have searched for information on how to install it to no avail.
I have drupal 4.4.1 and 4.4.2, and I want to extend the user registration form and customize the user profile, but I can't seem to locate any guide or tutorial on this.
I know some have used it successfully so I keep struggling to find a way to do it.
Even a short description will be very helpful. Pls someone help.
Thanks all for a great app. Actually, I think great is an understatement for Drupal, but everyone has said a lot already.
This past weekend, I installed the latest version of drupal running under apache2/php4 (on a linux box) and have found what seems like an obvious bug...
(I've tried to search for solutions for this issue, but finding the proper search terms to limit the results eluded me.)
I have run into a conflict when using the Glossary module in conjunction with the Private Messages module. If someone uses a term from the glossary in their subject of a private message, the glossary takes over and the subject becomes unclickable from that point. For example:
am wondering abt how to introduce the country, gender, interests etc. fields from the profile module in the new user registration form. does a hack exist around for this? anyone ?
I've noticed lately that as my website gets more and more indexing from search engines, a major interaction problem Event Calendar and indexing has been revealed.
If the search engine continuously crawls down the Event Calendar, it keeps moving forward in time, one month at a time, and constantly hitting my system as it tries to index all calendar events. However, it tends to go on forever - or until some imposed limit in the indexing engine reaches a depth limit. I've had a couple of indexing engines spend a couple of days continuously crawling down the event calendar.
