Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

transfer content from one site to another?

I have a drupal powered site on my school's server that I will lose soon. I have started a new drupal site on a commercial web host. Is there anyway to transfer some or all of my old content from my old site to the new one?

getting imagemagick convertto work

hopefully somebody can help me

i have got drupal all working, except the imagemagick part

my host have given me this, the absolute path (/usr/local/bin/convert) and they have even tested it and it works (on a linux server). However, i still get the annoying 'DOES NOT EXIST - fix in Site Configuration' message

i have searched through the forum, but couldn't find a solution. Can anybody offer some help please?

Do I need the bbcode module?

Is the bbcode module inherently safer than Drupal's internal "Strip HTML tags" function? Here are my HTML filtering settings:

Filter HTML tags: Strip tags
Allowed HTML tags: <a> <b> <em> <i> <li> <ol> <strong> <u> <ul>
HTML style attributes: Removed

Is installing the bbcode module going to afford me any extra security? Should I install it instead?

Blocks displaying

Hi,

I am quite new with working with Drupal.

I tried to find any documentation about hiding blocks when not logged in. News feeds I installed are not displayed when not logged in. So I think they have some options set to display them only when logged in. That is fine.

What I want is hide blocks at the left and right side when not logged in. That is the first step. I rather would like some blocks displayed or not depending which user is logged in. Possible already?
