Post installation

Can somebody tellme why I can't see an image by looking at http://site.com/?q=/images/logo.gif ?
The image is shown fine by calling at http://site.com/images/logo.gif . Do I need something else?

I am running Drupal 4.4.0 and have installed the mail.module. This is a LAMP set-up. If you include any of the variables (%username) I get an error.

I'm testing out a new 4.5 install. I'm hosted on a service provider who has disabled exec(), which isn't a problem with the normal Image module, as I just specify GD2 instead of imagemagick, but the current image field in Flexinode only uses imagemagick, so attaching images completely fails (in spite of reporting success). Seeing as flexinodes with images are half the reason I'm wanting to use Drupal instead of my current Mambo install (the other being taxonemy), I see two alternatives:

Have trawled these forums and been very very happy with a lopt of the answers I've got, but I still have a couple of problems with this site: http://incsub.org/association/

1. In IE 6.0 for some unknown reason it appears absolutely tiny... I'm a FF user but can't say the same for everyone else

2. Even though it's enabled, the serach box won't appear :o(

Any help would be soooo much appreciated!

I've been looking at XTemplate (Drupal 4.5) but there doesn't seem to be a way for me to move block items around in the page.

For the home page, I don't really want to have the 3 column arrangement they have (LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT columns). I would like to arrange the blocks myself. (Right now the blocks are just arranged by weight on the left/right column).

I would like, for example, to move the Archive calendar somewhere other than the LEFT or RIGHT column.

Any ideas? Or is PHPTemplate the only way?

Any one know what needs to be added to the PHPTemplate to get the banners (banner.module) to display without using blocks?
