Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

How can users create their own blogs (not just blog entries)?

How can users create their own blogs? I only see "My blog" and no option for "create blog"
..also, can each blog have its own RSS feed?

How to show block to privileged users (roles) only?

I thought, I saw an answer in past, but now I can't find it.

Question: Is there a way to show some blocks only to priviledged users (roles)?

How do I let users create their own forums (not just topics)

How can I allow users to create their own forums (not just forum topics), without allowing them to have admin functions on other people's forums?

Per user blog index page

Hello,
I would like to setup a blog index page per user, to add a picture per example on the page listing blog story of a user ( ' my_blog link').
I tried to use flexinode to create a custom page type and then to use indexpage, but it does'nt make it.
So the question is :
Have you any idea how can i achieve this behaviour with existing module ?
If not, which module should i try to hook, blog, indexpage or frontpage?

Force users to change password at first login

We have installed a new drupal site (4.6). Users are creating there accounts, but I found out that many users are asking for a new password after a week or two. They are also posting frequently with the anonymous account.
I suspect that they are losing the password the received nor they are changing the password.

Is it possible to force the users to change the password at the first logon? Then they are obliged to think about a password that they hopefully will not forget.

Resource Hungry Site Coming to a Stand Still. Please help! :-(

Hi Everyone, hopefully someone can help me with this. I am managing the site for an up and coming pop group in the UK and everything was running fine at first. We're using a standard install of drupal with clean URLs and the following modules:

  • Event
  • Flexinode
  • image
  • pathauto
  • simplenews
  • front_page
  • urlfilter

The site also offers streaming mp3s via a flash mp3 players and uses private file access. I'm trying to login to disable this!

Our first shared host couldn't cope with the traffic after the group made a tv appearnace and blocked the site. They said there was problems with our scripts. We moved to 1&1 shared hosting and it worked ok but a bit slow. Then, we started getting the 'max_user_connections' message and were told by admin that we were using over 40% of the servers resources.

We have now moved to 1&1 managed hosting (dedicated server) and are still experiencing problems. Sometimes for a few moments you can get on fine to front_page and slow access to other pages, other times these messages come up:

"Lost connection to MySQL server during query" or a message saying can't connect to db as not available (and it becomes unavailable through phpmyadmin too). People are also not being mailed their passwords.

Our current server setting are as follows:

  • WebDav active
  • FastCGI inactive
  • SSL support active
