Post installation

I can find a number of example snippets on this site, but I'm struggling to find any documentation on what facilities (variables, functions etc) are available to a snippet. I'm sure that I'm just being blind, but I would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Greetings all, looking forward to getting into Drupal, looks like it will work nice with the setup here. But, alas, I have a few questions I'm hoping are simple for some of you. :)

My first question is when a user is creating a page, I only want them to be editing the center contents of the page, say just some kind of area in the center of a 3 column organized page. Where is it that I go in Drupal to set this up? When a page gets created by the user, I want the header/footer/navigation and look and feel of the page to be applied to their created page.

I have a client that wants a feature, and I have no idea how to do it. The want a random image (from image.module) to be displayed on the opening page of her site. The opening page would consist of only a logo, and the random image. When you click on either of them, you would be taken to the main part of the site.

How do i fix the Access Denied error for everyone except Anoymonus users and Me (Which was the first account created). How do i fix this error i think it might be due to high server loads or a MYSQL Error. It is fine until someone logs in then they just get an access denied message and can't view anything unless they logout. Thanks in advance. Need a Fix ASAP!
