Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

change author and that author able to edit node

I allready gave permission to specific group to edit their own pages. I changed as admin the author of a "page" node to a member of that group but there is no way that member to edit this "page" node. The only way to work is the author himself create a "page" and then edit. Any suggestions ?

Comment viewing options

How do I make 'Comment viewing options' like they have here: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/node/19678#comment

Reminds me of slashdot. would be cool to know how to incorporate this feature... I have seen it on other drupal driven sites but none come to mind right now

changing number of nodes displayed

is there an easy way to change the number of nodes that are displayed on different pages? for example - i only want one node to be displayed on the front page, but when the user would browse through other taxonomy terms, it would show 5 or 10 nodes.

maybe there's already a module out there of some type, but i haven't found one yet. let me know if you have any ideas. thanks.

How do I edit content of a custom block I created.

I created some custom blocks with just plain HTML in them, and now I can't find a way to edit their content. administer->block only allows "configure" or add new block. Blocks don't show up under content.

Also I can't seem to delete these blocks once they are created. Not good.

(And yes have done extensive search on drupal.org website, no relavent hits on editing content, just how to create custom blocks, which I know how to do.)

Can't seem to get the taxonomy_access module installed

I get stuck at the patching of taxonomy.module. I've read several posts talking about difficulties but most deal with non-devs unfamiliar with patch. I'm at least familiar with it but it just doesn't apply cleanly. I'm not a programmer and I can't figure out how to make it work. I've tried it from linux and windows, doesn't seem to be a linefeed type issue but I really am not sure.

Here's the error:

function *_categories(): set tab as default

Hi.
I created a module which adds a custom userpage to the user profile. In /user/*/edit I've got two tabs:
"userpage" "account...".
How do set "userpage" as default (like "type" => "MENU_DEFAULT_LOCAL_TASK")?
Is there any hidden feature for *_categories()?

My function:
