Post installation

I am very happy to have been able to set up a site for a community of doctors struggling for the people's right to free and good quality public health care in Argentina, using the standard core "pushbutton" theme together with the wonderful epublish module. I am using Drupal 4.6.3 installed with fantastico on the site:

I set up a first publication "Tribuna de Salud" and an edition "Noviembre 2005, Volume 4, No. 10", made current, with some 20 or so articles. I set up the taxonomy and the topics for a default section.

As a result, three blocks appeared in Administer / blocks:

1. One with the Name of the publication "Tribuna de Salud", which is the first one on the upper left you can see on the site. It lists editions with links.
2. The "epublish" block, which is the second one on the left, which lists publications.
3. The "headlines block" with the name I gave it "Indices Tematicos" (subject indices).

OK, everything A-OK.

Now I have added a second publication, "Folletos de Tribuna de Salud" and added an edition and an article.

Here is my question:

Maybe I have been drinking too much Argentine mate (green tea), and working too many hours getting this site up and running; but, why doesn't a second block with the name of the second publication and listing its edition, appear in Administer / blocks?

I know the documentation says there are two kinds of blocks, the epublish and the taxonomy based headlines section (which are there and enabled and which work fine); but then, where did the first block come from, and if it is there, why isn't there another one for the second publication.

I am attempting to get Menus to work.
If I understand correctly I can build a menu like this

Foo
|-B1
|-B2
|-B3

I have been sucessfull in this but I am unable to attach content to either B1,B2 or B3.
I have created Block and Stories but have been unable to attach them.
It seems to me that it is something to do with /admin or /node but as yet I seem to be missing something.

I am attempting to migrate away from PHP-Nuke to a more flexible system and like Drupal.

Anonymous is using $user-uid of 0

Normally the global $user-uid should be empty (ie, I am guessing the $user variable just shouldn't exist!), at least it is on my test server.

But for some stupid reason on my main server it exists and is causing all sorts of havoc, as can be seen by visiting this link http://madivad.com/node/101

I am working on the new birthday reminder module. I am storing all users date of births in a database table and now I am trying to create a script to list upcoming birthdays. I want to do it in SQL for performance reasons, as if a site has hundreds/thousands of users it would be better for the database to search and list the results in order and not with PHP.

I'm totaly new to Drupal and PHP. I'm trying to follow and expand the example_node code just to get to know PHP and Drupal. I've struggled a few day to figure out how to insert data from the new multidimensional form array into my database. Here's what I've got.

Any help? It seems I could get the 'cron' to run, so I got a lot of update records of the news aggregator (every hour). I try to make the log file to be cleaned every 6 hour, but apparently it is not working. What's wrong? Thanks!
