Post installation

Hi, i am a total newbie to drupal, with no background on php or dynamic webpage design.

I have a question regarding the book feature. I intend to create several books which is not part of the blog or story: for example Travel, Cooking, Academic Writings

At first I thought the book root page as listed here http://www.indrani.net/index.php?q=book would list the available books and probably the TOC. Just like when i click http://www.drupal.org/book

I have the banner module working successfully at a site in a block. I am trying to create horizontal banner ads in the header area (that is, outside of blocks.)

Does anyone have tips/code for which file to edit or section to edit for PHPTemplate? If I could get an example, it would be HUGELY helpful.

I mean some bloggers can deliver their articles in some specific region. In these regions only display the title , author, read number of the articles. The user can click the title into the articles page and click the
author into the author's blog.

what model do I use?

anyone know how to change the font sizes in marvin? I really just want the website name that links all pages back to the home page. Also...i am using htmlarea and when i try to link a word to another site....it always adds my websites name in front..maybe im doing something wrong..any help is much appreciated Thank you in advance

and i have made so many menu items but i want to restrict some of the menu items to be only for the registered users on my website
can some one please help me how can i do that so that only registered users can access certain pages
