Post installation

i would like to insert a "weather block" next to my logo but so far it was successfully...

i'm using xtemplate.. could someone show me what needs to be done to achieve it? tks

i checked the log and it says.."cron was completed" but i went to aggregator and did see it got updated..

is there anything I need to add to cron.php or somewhere to setup for aggregator to be apart of cron? tks

i installed nodevote but seems like is not working... all i see under the node is "Score: 0.0, votes: 0" and there was no place to vote..

Is there a place where I can find Drupal site security recommendations? At a minumum, is there a post/page where I can find file permissions for Drupal directories and key files? I checked the Drupal.org/Security page and there is nothing of the sorts there. I also tried searching, received a number of returned posts - but again found nothing after going through many, many of the returned posts. Ideally, I would think that this topic (security) is deserving of it's own forum; but if not, at least a single location where best practices can be easily found. Is there such a place/post?

i've in the processing of installing multiple virtual hosts shared across a sinlge drupal db.

how is administration of these sites managed? e.g., in the case of assigning site themes, each site needs to be separately logged in to, and thus administered, correct?

i'm hoping that there's a multisite "panel", or some such, where i can log in, select "Themes", and see -- on one page/table -- the themes assigned to each vhost, and have the ability to assign change them there.

how is this done (can it be?) in drupal?

How do I prevent forum discussions from appearing on the Front Page?

Right now, the only setting I've noticed is ADMINISTER / CONTENT / CONFIGURE / CONTENT TYPES / FORUM TOPIC / promoted to front page is unkchecked.

But nevertheless, the posting still appear on the Front Page. I only want PAGES to appear there, not FORUMS.

Can anyone help?

P.S. I'm not talking about the Navigation block, but the actuall content of the threads.
