Post installation

I have a certain category that displays the Drupal web page with content articles for that category in the center column.

How can I create a block which has the titles from the most recent stories in that category?

Hello!

I'm using "Connections" theme, but I have problem with Blocks.. I want login box, calendar, new members etc on the left sidebar, and I select "left" at blocks part (admin panel) but they are still at right sidebar, what's wrong?..

I have an installation of Drupal that is some months old. I've forgotten what version it was when I installed it, but would need to know it now when I plan to upgrade.

How do I determine what version I'm running? (I suspect there is an obvious answer to this, but I haven't been able to find the answer in Drupal or the forums.)

I'm starting a forum, so to make it look used I need to invent some users to get topics running. Registering new users requires unique email addresses, which I don't want to use. Is there a way of creating users without needing an email address to receive the password?

Well, Ive spent 3 weeks trying to make the most of Drupal but WordPress has won out. I can turnaround my site using WP much faster and more effectivly that with Drupal as I have been having tonnes of problems.

I still have faith that Drupal is a better solution SO if I were to convert in a few weeks once I have got all the issues with Drupal worked out (maybe when 4.7 is ready?) how EASY would it be to import ALL my data from the WP database to the Drupal one??
