Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Same users, different sites...

Im planning on launching upwards of 20 sites; each with their own unique domain name. Is there a way for all my sites to share the same users database?

I'd like to allow a user who registers on site1 to be able to log into any of my other sites. Is this possible?

Thanks,
-=Vince

Navigation Menu

I don't want the navigation menu to appear to every member of my community. How do I make it appear to only a select few people?

Also can you change the position of the login box?

Questions from a NEWBIE

OK, I'm a newbie. I have been trying to figure this whole thing out and am at a very puzzled juncture.

I want to do something really simple, but cannot figure it out. Thought a simple application would be a great place to start with Drupal!

My web hosting provider installs Drupal, so that went OK :)

I will have 3 'types' of pages:
1. Static text
2. Job postings
3. Resumes

And, two types of users: job posters and resume posters. I will give them user names and passwords after they purchase a spot on the site - in other words - they cannot create user accounts themselves. I think I have all that configured OK. I have configured only page and story modules....

I can set up the template, the users, and do all sorts of fun stuff, but I cannot figure out:

1. How to make a static page that does NOT show 'submitted by' and how many reads the page has had. I just want it to look like a 'normal' html page.

2. CANNOT FIGURE OUT MY LINKS!
. How do determine the nodes' url (clean or otherwise)
. How to assign one page type to the postings, one to resumes (did that with categories - see below).

Believe it or not, I have spent hours on this, and got the book about making online communties, searched through many forum entries, etc.

Could someone point me (PUSH me) in the right direction? http://www.underspace.com/drupal

URL path auto set based on story title?

I'd like to find a mod that will automatically make the URL of a new story similar to it's title, for example:

If your new story is titled: Cat stuck in tree, more news at 11!

I'd like to see the URL to this news story as: www.domain.com/date/cat_stuck_in_tree_more_news_at_11

Sure I could do it manaully via the "URL path settings" in each story, but auto is best and having the 'date' will stop overlap. I'm pretty sure I saw a module for this before, but can't seem to find it.

A gallery (which is a node) for each user?

I need to make a site where each user is allowed to have a gallery. Like a portfolio.

So, I guess the gallery should be a node. Not the individual images. That is, to allow other users to comment and rate/review _the galleries_ (not the individual images)...

I've tried playing around with Acidfree, Album and the bare-bones Image module.

consolidating 3 drupal sites into one

I have three drupal sites running on one drupal installation. I want to take all of the users & nodes and consolidate them into one site. Any thoughts about how this can be done? I don't want to loose any postings.

Thanks
