Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

My Drupal Wishlist... Now is it possible?

I'm a Drupal newbie but am pretty good at coding & computers - BUT I need to build a CMS site that will have many in-house end-user web 'authors' from different departments in our Non-Profit that want to add pages, add sections, create/modify content. We want to add PUBLIC user access later. I'm using 4.7b4, testing on OS X Apache 1.3something

Specifically:

Assume my authors don't know HTML and aren't too tech savvy

[1] Authors can:
a. load pre-designed page templates to customize with their own content (fckeditor? +css)
b. use wysiwyg editor to edit/add content (fckeditor?)
c. Upload images that will be placed into wysiwyg layout (fckeditor?)
d. Upload PDF & word documents that will be linked from their page (upload module?)
e. Ideally, allow uploads to be organized on server in folders - at minimum by file type, at best in detailed folder hierarchy
f. Add News Items consisting of text, links, PDFs (story w/weblinks, upload module?)

[2] Site capabilities:
a. Show top 'n' news items on front page (php snippet)
b. Send newsletters out to targetted groups (once we allow public users) (simplenews wasnt working on 4.7b4)
c. Allow for public user to create custom front page (ie. see news only for a specific taxonomy)
d. Search tool (use search module - i had trouble making it come up with results from stories)
e. Have a news/press release page

Allowing users to edit their post in certain conditions

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way to allow users to:

1/ Edit their post only if they have not yet been published (because what use is the moderation then?)
2/ At the same time, do not allow them to destroy their post if they have been published (so perhaps it is the same thing as first point)

Or perhaps, we can keep the second point, and allow them to edit even published posts, but then, posts should be unpublished automatically to go again in moderation queue...

Primary Links on top, Secondary left, how?

I would like to make a 2-level navigation with Drupal 4.7.0b4 with a primary horizontal menu at the top and a secondary vertically to the left of the screen. I don't want the 1st-level entries to appear on the 2nd-level menu. I tried a lot of things but nothing worked. How would you approach the problem?

Layout changes to products page?

Hi all,

I am creating my first Drupal site for a friend and I have got the ecommerce module working great.

My friend has asked if there can be a couple of changes made to the way the products are displayed and since I'm new to this I thought someone might give me some advice/help?

How do I make all URLs/paths absolute?

My website: http://www.sphynxkatter.se

I get a lot of this error messages:

Mass Import of Book Reviews - or other node types such as Aggregator2 newsfeeds?

I am thinking of mass importing some book reviews and was wondering about using the import_export module.

UNfortunately that only imports/exports a small number of node types - page, story, and now flexinode.

Presumably I need to hack the bookreview.module to add the hooks which import_export needs - but the documentation in the module is almost non existant.

Has anyone done something similar
