Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

More forum features?

Is there something I can add on or configure so that when someone goes to the forum page, they will know weather or not they have viewed the newest responses/topics in a particular forum? Like maybe adding a "new" pic/text ON the forum page that will tell the user something new has been posted in THAT forum since they last were on?

Thanks :)

This is amusing, yet I'm not laughing: page in iframe takes over my Drupal

here's the situation: I set up a Ubuntu User's Guide as a iframe page in a node (wrapped is what I'm saying). It worked great and I was happy. But I just realized that they had an upgraded version of that guide (in wiki format) so I pasted that link in my iframe reference.

Unfortunately, now whenever someone clicks on the "Ubuntu User's Guide" link on the main menus at my site the wiki page suddenly expands and eliminates the wrap...effectively taking that user away from my website.

Check out what I'm talking about here:

Strange login problem

I'm having a very strange problem with one of my sites running 4.7b4. Suddenly I couldn't log with the main user. So well, I thought that maybe it was a password issue. So I tried to reset it and the email says my new password is "%password". After searching I realised this is a reported bug, so I didn't panic.

Now I had to work out how to log in. I registered a new account, then via phpmyadmin, changed the uid of my main account to 955 and put uid 1 on my new account. This seemed to work fine. But then i logg'd out and tried to log in again and I couldnt.

Front page

Is it possible to format your login page (pre login) to look different than the page you have when Login. Basically I want to first thing people to see to be like a static about my company with a login and then when they enter they are given the functionality without all the company info.

Thanks!

RSS reader

I am trying to get a feed from Yahoo to display in my news aggregator. I am not sure how to configure it. I click on the RSS link on yahoo and all I get is code. Can someone please describe the process to me?

Modules for Education: What if I want to relate a single user with the time they get onto the course?

I´ve been reading a lot about Drupal applied to education.
DrupalED, funnymonkey, people using Drupal for their online/brick courses...
I must admit that DrupalEd confused me a bit. It seems like it is just a big forum where people share their thoughts and experiences, but I din´t see any new module or something to download. I´m sure I didn´t search correctely.

With all that material, I got very confused. There are a lot of information out there!

I started a log time ago with Moodle, and I liked it (it was a little confusing though).
But it has a BIG problem, at least to me: I needed to relate the time when each student entered a course with the course itself.

As English is not my mother´s tongue, I´m gonna try to make myself clear the better way possible :-)

We have 2 types of courses: On Line and "brick" ones.

On Line
- People can suscribe themselves when they want. There´s no enrollment dates.
- Each course consists on several modules, and each module has an individual test.
- There is a big test at the very end of the course.
- Each student "pass" each module, and get the next one, if and only if they approve each module´s individual test. Then, they get the next module and the next test, and so on, and on.
- A bunch of students can enter the course January 1st, and one "late" student can enter january 15th.
This last student have to be able to enter the same course and get the 1st module of that course (and just the first one), even if all the rest are reading the third.
