Maybe I'm missing something really huge here, but I don't actually know what the category module (or taxonomy) are.
I thought I knew, but...
Is taxonomy:
1. A site structuring tool?
2. A way of tagging information?
3. A way of categorising information?
If it's:
1. it does a great job
2. yep, does what it's supposed to
3. can't get it to work the way I want it to....
The set up:
I have stories, pages, and businesses.
I want to categorise the content by area/location, so that people can search for stories, pages or businesses relating to their location.
Content might relate to a specfic town or suburb, or it might relate to a region or state.
I want to be able to ask:
- who provides the services I want in western sydney(region)?
- who provides services in the Greater Parramatta area (district in Sydney)?
- who provides services in Granville(town in GP area)?
So, I have the following structure:
Western Sydney->Greater Parramatta->Granville[C]
where Granville is a category and the others are containers.
I have a you-beaut menuing system that drills right down to Granville (if nodes are tagged with Granville), but how do i select nodes that provide services in Western Sydney (western sydney is a container, not a category)?
How does a business:
- specify that they service the Greater Parramatta area (it is a container, not a category, and you can't select it)
