Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

completely custom vocab home page

Hi,

I really don't like that way taxonomy context displays the terms in a vocab's home page. I would prefer create a completely custom index page with views and custom content as well...

I think this is actually not possible with taxonomy module?? I tried the taxonomy redirect, but I don't think it can redirect to a custom page, but it can only use a views to replace the normal taxonomy engine...

1px border around taxonomy blocks

I've been fooling around with the style.css and block.css for ages, and I can't seem to figure this out. I'm using the fancy theme, which is a little more complex layout than most.

I'd like to make my newly created blocks, based on taxonomy_dhtml, look like the Navigation menu- with the 1 px border.

I believe I've tried most of the obvious stuff, but.....
How would you do it?

Here's the site that I've just started working on: http:finneganarts.com

Thanks,
John

...Add a link to print-friendly book page

Hi,

I've found that some sites are linking straight to print-friendly versions of book pages on my site, but that on these pages there is just the text of the article. There are no links on print-friendly pages back to the web-version or even the home page. How can I add such a link?

I'm using 4.6.8 with a modified Box_Grey/phptemplate theme. Is it a case of hacking the book module or can it be done via the theme?

Regards,

Marcus.

Any alternatives to list the terms in a vocab except taxonomy context?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but is it possible to list all the terms in a vocab without using taxonomy context?

I don,t like the way category context does it, I would prefer a simple layout like the category module does... Is there any taxonomy module add-on who could help changing the index page of a term so it ressembles the TOC made by category module?

I though about replacing the normal taxonomy engine with views by using taxonomy replace, is there any other modules I could use to achieve this??

Show Latest News Headlines on the Front Page

How can I show the latest News Headlines on the front page. I have the news aggregator feeds but do not know how to get a select group of feed items eg. the latest headlines from the feeds to the front page. The agg cats are in place and I have taxonomy for the navigation and since the agg cats and the taxonomy cats are different how do I tag each feed item to an taxonomy cat?

Hope I am clear as I am a bit hazy on how to proceed with this.

Setup page "Welcome to your new Drupal website!" appears as front page

This is happening with my development site on a Mac OS X 10.4 local server. When I log in as User 1, everything looks OK, but when I login with my test authenticated user account, the original setup page shows up first thing. In fact, the same thing happens, only worse, when I enable "access content" in the node module for the anonymous user: the setup page appears as the front door of the login page.

I hardly want newcomers to CREATE THE FIRST ACCOUNT and/or CONFIGURE THE WEBSITE as soon as they log in.
