Post installation

I would like to prevent users from seeing a navigation menu block and then individual menu items based on what user role they have. The only way I see to do that is to thow in a php statement drupal will check before displaying the block. I still haven't seen how to limit access to individual links. So if someone will point me in the right direction within the interface to do these things or will tell me the variable in which drupal stores it's user roles I would appreciate it.

Is there a way to prevent nodes of specific node type to be not
indexed and searched by the core search module?

Is there any possible way to change roles automatically. For example i want to set any user who wrote 20 nodes to another role. Or is there any module which is related with this situation?

It always happens. I go on vacation and the server crashes. This time, after the crash, dozens of images are missing; there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which ones are missing.
Anyone else lose any content lately?

Hi all,

I was wondering how to customize the content part in page.tpl.php. I wanted to have an additional header '<h3>comments</h3> above the comment section, but this code print $content; outputs the entire content and I have no clue how to get to the different sections within the content var (like attachments & comments).

Of course I could use a quick 'n dirty hack for this particular need:

Heya everyone. I'm a new one on the drupal forums and am looking for someone to come to my rescue here.

I've found myself using the category module to display a TOC so I can navigate the site easily. I use it in concurrence with the menu and it works great except for one situation. When I try to create a new page, and then tell it to go out to another offsite page, the menu works, but in the TOC it still takes me to the child page I made.
