I am the web developer for a theological seminary (http://www.wls.wels.net). I recently relaunched the website using Drupal 4.7 and a number of user-contributed modules. The site has been a tremendous asset already because of Drupal. Now more people are able to help maintain the site, instead of just one person doing it in GoLive.
One of the most sought after features that visitors to the site are looking for is a searchable archive of past graduate photos. Since 1896 the seminary has kept photographs of every graduate in a large framed piece. The photos of graduates of the past 110 years adorn the walls throughout the building. A few years ago, before I was working on the website, there was a way that users could search for a name and if that person had graduated from the institution, a link to his class photo was given. Many relatives of past graduates used this feature. It is still a hotly requested feature.
From what I have been able to find out, the old system was based on a Microsoft Access database with three bits of information per entry. 1) The name of the graduate. 2) The year of graduation. 3) An href to the relevant image file on the server.
I have in install of drupal on my system. IN the sites directory I have 2 sites. SiteA and SiteB. Both sites work perfectly fine and are having a great symbiotic relationship....EXCEPT. If i link to a file on the server such as a pdf, then i get a 400 error. IE I put the file test.pdf in the drupal root dir;
Is there a employee shift schedule module? Looking for something that a manager can schedule a person, then that person has the ability to view their schedule. Possible neat additions would be: ask for vacation, which then could be approved; ability for employees to swap shift, which then could be approved.
If there is nothing like this, or close, I could start it.
Hi, I am trying to manipulate and understand the themes in drupal a bit better..if anyone could possible elaborate on how to accomplish the following id appreciate it.
1. is it possible to convert 2 column themes to 3 column, without a ton of work?
2. how can you add custom block locations (ex: left column, header, footer, etc)? I want to add a banner spot in my top panel on the right hand side. Id also like to add a small bar above the panel to store links to other networked sites (see www.gigaom.com)
