Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Enable Clean URL

I'm looking for anyone who is intimately familiar with the 'Clean URL' feature. I'm looking to enable this feature before going live with a corporate site. If anyone can help me get off the ground, I've never attempted this before. I have the site completely built; if you would like to take a look:

http://www.grondinconstruction.com/drupal-4.7.5/

The version should be self explanatory.

no user can view content, access denied

I checked via search and don't see one exactly like this. Also, I am unable to stop and start the web server so that isn't a solution for me.

I can see content when logged in, but when I go to read any content just by viewing the site I get 'Access Denied You are not authorized to access this page.'

I tried checking and saving 'Public' on the posts after this happened, it does says that shouldn't be necessary.

I do have 'access content' set for anonymous users under access control.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
Samblue

CSS Takes A Long Time to Refresh

I'm changing around my test site's CSS, and am noticing that when I make changes, and I refresh, nothing happens...for a while. Then, all of a sudden, 10 minutes later, it enacts the changes I made to the CSS. Any reason why this is? Can it be changed?

Thanks again!

Taxonomy access - role to add single term

I'm having a bit of a fight with taxonomy access, and the drupal search engine has failed me!

Basically on my site I would
1. Everyone (including anonymous) to be able to read all content.
2. A 'Role' who can add stories to a single taxonomy term (say Kangaroos, below).

My Taxonomy is hierarchical, e.g.
Creatures
-> Fish
-> Mammals
---> Dogs
---> Cats
---> Kangaroos
-> Insects

Settings on admin page "The directory files does not exist"

Hello

Read the forums & handbook but could not find a reference to it.

Fresh install of 4.7 on a Cento OS 4. Everything is fine except while in the admin section
admin>sections> I get the prettiest little red border box stating "The directory files does not exist." Of course I am unable to change the configurations.

Re downloaded and installed the software with same results.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

how to add menu items by creating a content

I have Drupal 5.0 website build up. In the Category module, I add a vocabulary "book" which contains two list terms "West Bay" and "Smell Strange". Meanwhile, I have menu "book" on the right-side bar. When I create a content, I can choose the term "West Bay" or "Smell Strange" to category this content, I am also able to choose the menu to put in this content. But How to create menu items under "book" with the same titile name automatically without manually pointing to parent menu when I create content?

Thansk for answering my question!
