Post installation

I am just about to turn on a very small (for now) departmental intranet using Drupal 5.1. The server is a dual 1.8 Opteron machine with 4GB of RAM. I noticed some very slow first page load times, so I have turned on MySQL caching and eAccelerator.

Last night, before I made some changes, I was using Opera to test a "normal user" account (I use Pubcookie and Webserver_auth module so I tend to open differing browsers so Ican keep cookies separate.)

In Drupal, I made Garland the default theme and I changed the color scheme to Teal.

Hello, i have created a SMF forums with over 1000 posts and would like to migrate it over to the drupal forums, if this is possible, can you please tell me?

I need to generate a basic form: a mortgage calculator which takes numeric values, then simply makes a few simple calculations and prints those values back to the user. Very simple. I do not need to create a module for this nor do I need to access the database for any reason.

I am trying to define a variable identifying the current section to display above my sub-navigation.

So far I've tried...

print $node->title

which does the same as...

print $title

both display the page title, not the current section. This should be derived from the menu tree.

Another way to say this is, I'm looking for the parent node variable.

Basically, is there a huge page in the handbook full of possible variables?

I am using the Image Gallery module. I was wondering if there was a way to make it so that the only way people can get to the images is by a link that I create. I want to make it so they can't just click image gallery and have all the images appear. Is there a better module to use for images. I'm open to suggestions.

How can I create a page or story and have it display without the page title? I have a section that's just a list of links with a description, and I don't want the title to show, but it won't let me add it without one.
