Upgraded PHP and everything broke

I recently upgraded my server to php 5.2 which I understand isn't supported right now, however, the errors I am getting do not appear to be related to the session problem.

I have attempted to upgrade my drupal version to 4.7 and 5.0-rc1 however, I am getting a huge number of errors on the site. The biggest problem is that the site appears to be displaying a bunch of binary (the best way I can describe it). I have left it in its current state if anyone can take a look for me: http://www.geeksv.com/

The current version I have tried is 4.7-dev but this problem is happening with every version, I am fairly certain it isn't a database corruption, I have done some checks.

If you don't wish to take a look there here is what I am getting on the front page:

Warning: ini_set() [function.ini-set]: A session is active. You cannot change the session module's ini settings at this time. in /usr/home/geeksv.com/public_html/sites/default/settings.php on line 109

Profile Module screwed up when going to Drupal 5... users' data now in users table

Hi there

Upgraded to Drupal 5 RC1...

users up until now had their profile data filed in the profile_values table. Fine.

When upgraded to Drupal 5, it appears that new users now have these values held in the users table.

So, at the moment, I have half my users' profile data in the profile_values table, half in the users table.

Any idea what I can do to sort this out?

Thanks!

Front page content incorrectly sorted on site cloned to new server

I have recently moved all my Drupal sites onto a new server. The files (Drupal v4.6.0 and the database - mysql) were copied verbatim from the old site to the new.

Byte for byte, the new site and the old site are identical. When accessing the new site as an anonymous user, the content of the front page is correctly sorted (newest content appears first). However, when you log in, the content is ordered completely wrong: the front page shows content from January 2006 first and content from December 2006 last.

Will the Flexinode Module be ported to version 5.x ?

Just wondering if we are going to see the module ported, as I have used the said module in my current 4.7.3 version site, and having seen that it is not listed in the maintainers list made me think how I could upgrade to version 5.x in the future.

Drupal's Update Mechanism and Mod_Security

Hi everyone,

just a very quick post while I stumbled across this myself just a minute ago:

For those of you who have mod_security installed (with these great up-to-date rules from gotrules.com) on their server (or know, that their provider runs mod_security (you can find this out by searching for mod_security in the output of phpinfo()):
