Drupal 7 or 8 for a new user to Drupal (seeking path of least resistance)?

I am seeking path of least resistance to quickly create a site and not be burdened by technical details and to move on quickly into using it for my purpose.

It will be a personal site for a side-gig. I originally intended to use ZF2 just because I know it and I know what I'll be in for and how long it will take me to make a site. But then chose to look into Drupal because it is a powerful CMS engine and can make sites fast as I understand.

I am totally totally new to Drupal I know next to nothing and I have never used a CMS before.

Which PHP type is suitable ?

I am using Kloxo-mr control panel on CentOS 6 server. Which PHP type I should choose so that it will work with Drupal 7 and other modules. Available php type is given below -

mod_php_ruid2
mod_php_itk
suphp
suphp_event
suphp_worker
php-fpm_event
php-fpm_worker
fcgid_event
fcgid_worker

And which php branch I should use - php55u_ or php55w_ ? What is the difference ?

Integrating searchable database with forms

I am trying to create a website where users can fill out a form about a class they are teaching (location, time, subject, etc.) and users can then search the populated database for classes.

Is this something that can be done with Drupal without an intense amount of coding?

Drupal multilingual import. Can it be done?

Hello guys,

I am looking into Drupal's multilingual import ability and I am confused. There are 2-3 modules that I look into like Taxonomy Imports, Feeds and Migrate but I have the feeling that the importing of multilingual data into Drupal, is a bit not straightforward.

What I want is to import a bilingual site, into taxonomy, and three different content types with their fields. Is that doable?

Of course maybe I am mistaken because I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks

Views and Taxonomies

Hello Drupal Community,

A simple question for you I guess.

If I want to build a directory of stuff, and if that stuff are categorized to two-level categories BUT about 600 of them. When I want to have a page for every single category displaying a list of these stuff do I have to manually create that many views?

Thanks

P.S: I don't even know if its correct to use so much taxonomy. In terms of site performance I mean.
