I want to create a video sharing / social web portal. I'm a very PHP/MySQL developer, Graphic Designer and flash action scrip programmer and I was wondering:
a) is drupal flexible enough to let me modify its modules completely to adapt it to what I want without breaking it's CMS functionallity
b) can I create wireframes and graphical mockups of pages I will use on my drupal project and then adapt any module to fit on my design?? (I know it wont be easy, but can be done ? ), is drupal flexible enough for that??
The default requirement for a 6.x drupal is 16MB memory. And my host allows 16MB as a maximum. So just for example if I were to install more drupal sites on this one host. Does this mean I need way more than 16MB PHP limit, since it's not just a one site? Is it 16MB required per drupal site?
I know installing modules makes a difference. But I'm referring to core drupal initially.
I am looking for a solution that is the same as an Ecommerce site but without the ability to buy anything.
So for example I need a left menu with items that when click display a list of items with single image in the main part of the page. Then when an itam is clicked the page displays information and imultiple images. However instead of a "buy now button" a button should be present to all me to redirect the user else where.
It must have all the other features as being able to sign up customers, send newsletters and so on.
I am thinking of a website along the lines of LinkedIn catering to a specific country.
Not all the same features, some addons, which I have done already, and some of them not there at all.
What I want to know if i am using the right version to start with, which is 6.x or i should move to 5.x.
Also would be great if someone suggested all the modules i will/or might need.
Please comment and suggest, please...please...please
