Hi there,

First, I'd like to thank the developers for providing the code base for such a nice solution. After reviewing so many systems (both paid and gpl), for our site, I decided to go with Drupal. So far so good, and I look forward to being a helpful part of the community.

I do have a quick question about downloading files from this site. I wanted to add a few modules to my core installation, but when I attempt to download anything from Drupal.org, I get this error when trying to open the zip file:

Error reading header after processing 0 entries

I'm curious. So far I've only seen one female name here. With alias it's always hard to tell. I'm wondering how much of us linux using website owning females are here.(yes I know of linuxchix *g*) I'm personally self taught on linux and have been using it since '96 with a dual boot system that I built. I've maintained several websites since '96 and prior to that for about 2 years hung out on BBS before moving to internet. Oh and I also have a ham radio license. I've found unless I contact CLARA you really don't see that many women on. :/

How much of this do you have turned on for your various site modules? I'm unsure how many I should turn on. I do notice performance differences between firefox vs opera when viewing the site. And the site oddly a bit slow when not many people are on. The site has plenty bandwidth and I am using a broadband connection with 2Mup/4Mdown so it shouldn't be so slow. The hosting wasn't that slow with my non drupal site before and I do realize drupal has far more code(I often used to handcode all my sites in nano or alleycode).

I see the 'image' module stores the image as original, preview and thumbnail .. for *all* images.

This could take up some disk space. I feel only recently accessed images must be having the preview and thumbnail or just preview version in disk cache.

Like of an image is not accessed in last 10 days, the preview version can be deleted from disk. This way only images which are accessed in last 10 days has the preview version.

And ..

If the original image itself is lesser than the preview size, creation of another preview image can be totally avoided.

hi everybody,

I am having a bit of a problem when using 'ethiopic' content in my drupal site. some of the characters are changed to something else other than the original entry when the content is displayed on a page. the unicode range for 'ethiopic' characters is from 1200 - 137F. I am using MySQL 4.1, IIS 5.0, and most recent stable versions of php and drupal. I appreciate any help.
