Drupal.com & Trademark Issues.

On my way to Drupal.org I accidentally typed in drupal.com. I noticed that someone is typosquatting on the domain offering to sell it for $28,000. This is a pretty serious violation of trademark. Is someone working to get Drupal properly registered with the USPTO? Having done this sort of work, I would like to through my hat in the ring to get it done. Just wondering if someone is already doing this. BTW you don't need a non-profit foundation to get it done. Linux is a registered trademark of Linus.

Images in POSTS?

Anyone know what module to use for posting images in your POSTS? Something like what MAMBO has would be very helpful!

Can Drupal handle the animal kingdom?

I hope my post isn't too long-winded or redundant. I'm searching for a CMS for a website focusing on the animal kingdom, and I want to make sure I make the right choice before I get in too deep.

First, I've never worked with a CMS before. However, I've been working with PHP and MySQL for about a year (on a Windows XP platfom).

My site will be similar to the Animal Diversity Web. (See their wolf page as an example:
http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/information/Canis_lu... )

The main differences are that my site will have more topics and features, and I want a very different appearance. Most pages will consist of three-column bodies between a header and footer. The left column will only be about 75 pixels wide, while the right column will host my advertising affiliates, like Google Ads.

The Animal Diversity Web uses a CMS called Plone, which appears to be really powerful. I downloaded it but haven't even been able to view Plone's home page; it isn't even remotely user friendly.

Also, it appears that Plone replaces PHP with Python. I'm not sure which is better, but I don't know if it makes sense to scrap PHP after working with it for a year. Without Plone, I'll have to learn how to make a recursive array, but that shouldn't be too hard to learn. (I'm working withi simple child-parent relationships right now.)

Another website I admire is the Tree of Life - http://tolweb.org/tree/phylogeny.html I'm not sure what CMS they use, but their data is manipulated by the "Edge Representation" method, which I think is just a term they use for recursive array.

Planet Drupal?

How about a planet.drupal.org?

A paper: Drupal and the New Paradigm for Content Management

A colleague of mine wrote a paper to convince a client to choose Drupal over proprietary and traditional CMSes.

Multimedia node creation workflow

I wonder if I can have some pointers. I want to create a workflow for multimedia node creation that is easy, logical and intuitive. I've spent a couple of hours struggling with 4.6.2 and can't see an easy way to do what I want.

This is the desired workflow.

1. Non-technical user with access to 'News' category only, logs in.
2. Creates a 'News' node and unticks 'Published' (intends to unpublish and replace current 'News' node when finished.
3. Inserts an image from his hard disk into TinyMCE formatted text aligned left, 5px horizontal space and hyperlinked to an external site.
4. Inserts another image into the text aligned to the right, 5px horizontal space, hyperlinked and from a 'News Images' private library on the server.
5. Clicks preview, is happy and ticks published, submits.
6. Unpublishes old node and changes it to 'News Archive' category.
7. Logs out, checks site.

The main problems I have are these:

1. If I insert an image from an image gallery within Drupal, it will only be publically visible if the gallery is publically visible. I want to choose from a private archive of pics e.g. it's critical that images aren't available prior to publishing in the category.
2. Using img_asst, I cannot set the alignment or spacing or hyperlink
3. Using TinyMCE image function, I can't upload an image.
4. Using img_asst, I have to create a node to upload an image.
