I'm very new to this group but have become a very big fan of Drupal over the past months.
My question is what are the benefits to using the Drupal multisite functionality as opposed to just replacating multiple drupal directories and pointing them to the same common database (outside of course the lack of space the files take up)?
Also, can someone point me to the right place to read and config the multisite functions of Drupal? I'm missing it on the site.
I use Drupal on my site.... (duh :P)
I also have registered users on my site.
Forum that Drupal offers aint too good for me, and I would like
to install another. My server has an option to install either phpBB2 or SMF discussion boards (forums)
What I would like to know, is how can I connect database with usernames/passwords from Drupal, to this forum.
I mean, I'd like users that are already registered to have that username/password on forum too....
I hope you understand what I mean...
A) Various people have various motivation for writing and sharing code. Fame, fun, earning money are a few of them. So far, I have not seen any Drupal monk whose motivation is to generously help others by coding.
I am using drupal -4.6.3. And I didn't see any other requirements to install goofy.
I followed the steps to download goofy theme. And when i try to activate themes. I got this warning .
opendir(themes/goofy): failed to open dir: Invalid argument in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\drupal-4.6
\includes\file.inc on line 524.
My task is to compare and describe in 10 pages the main advances of my open source choice CMS (Drupal :)) and it's commercial competitors eg. Sun One, IBM Websphere, MS SharePoint etc. I'm not familiar with these ones, so can you help me to describe their major advantages against Drupal? It's a good place to tell the developers your opinion :)
