2 missing modules on Subversion

A few weeks ago there were 2 projects in CVS related to Subversion:
svn
project_svn

Now, both are gone. Does anybody know why?

I am interested in merging subversion functionality into a project module (preferrably with more workflow), in case anyone else is interested in collaborating.

is there a way to know how modules' status changed ?

I have been watching 4.7.x Tinymce module for days and something stroke me:

are there any method to get the idea how module's status are? ex, new module, module with new version.

to me, Drupal's module repository is so wonderful and hope to see anything good in it and any good tutorial/documentation about how to make use of those wonderful modules :)

Drupal becoming very slow

And that's running locally! With three custom blocks added, the site is noticably more sluggish to load than with the blocks disabled. I suppose it's all the convaluted taxonomy lookups, arg calls, and node loads ... but this is necessary to have any control of display, since the blocks don't seem to have any global variables available to them, like nid, etc.

Anyway, is there any way to cache these blocks, when I know they will contain info that will be infrequently updated? When I log out & have the cache on, the speed noticably increases.

A message to PLATO

Dear Plato,
i need your random.module... and the link you posted is broken...
You don't axcept emails so I'm tring to contact you by the forum...
Can you help me?

is drupal better than geeklog?

I am using geeklog for 2 of my sites and i like it quite good. THey have the url rewrite so the url is seo friendly, and it is easy to upload the pictures. Also i like the option that you can set the titles of the story automatically as h1 tags.

what i do not like is that the only option of using forum is phpbb one. I would like to use other forums but there is no plugin in geeklog for that.

also the themes arerarely updated, so when the geeklog updates, the themes are not and you have to figure out by yoursekf wha to do.

Next step after Fantastico install

I have installed Drupal via Fantastico. At least I think that's an installation, not just a download. But now I don't know what to do next. I have nothing to convert or transfer. I'm just looking to experiment with themes and pick one for further work.

However I'm such a complete beginner at all this that I need some step-by-step instructions to get me started. Can you point me to some help for a newbie?
