Taxonomy Access and RSS/XML feeds in 4.7

Hi,

I'm playing with Drupal setup and flash. I'm trying to get my flash movies to read the generated XML feeds off of my forums.

Take a look at http://www.medxstock.com
(http://www.dweebonaughts.com/medxstock)
For ideal results, make sure you've got Flash 8 and you're on Internet Explorer, or the latest Opera/Safari or something. IE 5.2, and some older browsers are screwing up the layout... don't worry about that, I'll fix it later.

My real problem is the functionality. When you first visit the site you'll get a splash page, comprising of a flash intro and menu. You eventually gets to a main menu and at the bottom there, you'll see a news ticker ("Latest:"). This reads from my News & Announcement forum, via RSS feed. This only works if users are logged in. As I'm using the front_page module for this particular page, specifically for anonymous visitors, the whole point behind it is that they see the ticker working when they're NOT logged in. I don't know why this is happening. I've used Taxonomy Access 4.7 and set permissions to "view" for authorised and anonymous viewers. I did notice that the "List" option is missing, and was present in the 4.6 version of the module.

Additionally, once you click "Enter site" and get to node/1, click the University Reps link. This flash module reads from the various region based forums on the site, and is supposed to pull up University information. I have only posted example Universities in "London" and "North West", so choose them from the first drop down menu and see what happens. Logged out? Nothing. Logged in, it works.

Font size issue

Using marvin with no changes made to css except color...
When viewing the site in higher resolutions 1280 x 1024 everything is OK, but at 800 x 600 the font is very tiny, yet everthing else (blocks, images) is sized as expected.

Help please.

I've installed a module...now what?

I downloaded the image module. I edited the module settings, created a gallery, and uploaded a picture. So now...when I am not logged in as administrator, where do I go to see the image gallery?

What the hell is netshaq and why are they mirroring Drupal.org + sticking in ads?

I did some googling and found this:

http ://w ww.netshaq.com/cgiproxy/nph-proxy.cgi/011100A/http/drupal.org/

what's up with that?

Drupal Help

Hi,

I'm fairly new to Drupal and to web design in general and am finding developing a website in Drupal very difficult.

The help available is not very good and most posts that I have made on the Post Installation forum seem to be ignored.

What are basic questions for me and may only require a simple answer from experts seem to be overlooked?

Is this just my bad experience or is Drupal just not designed for complete 'newbies'?

Just to add, what makes it more difficult is not knowing PHP :(

Using Drupal as Backoffice Application

I am new to Drupal, but have been programming in Java and PHP for 6+ years. I am currently working on re-doing a website for our HOA (homeowners association) and drupal fits great with the public website. However, the HOA also has some existing database tables and the need for a backoffice application that allows administrators to manage information located in these database tables. Would drupal work for this type of application?

Thanks,
Kari
