General discussion

After doing some research on the web, it seems that currently, the two most popular CMS are Drupal and Typo3. Since i'm new to the CMS space, have anyone done any detail evaluation between the two and if so, can you share the data with us? We are looking to port our online web services (minimum of a few million pageviews per day) to the CMS platform and we would like to know which CMS will take us there the quickest (easy of use (installation and configuration), fair learning curve and good community support etc...)

I have a couple of questions that i hope someone on this forum can help me with ...

1. Does anyone know of a complete list of large-scale WebSites that are running on Drupal CMS in production?

2. Does anyone know whether Amazon or Ebay or Yahoo or other large-scale websites are relying on the CMS to manage their websites or not? and if they do, which CMS (s) do they use?

I'm very new to Drupal and have been working playing around with 4.7.0 RC2 getting my feet wet and getting used to some of the drupal terminology. I'm not sure if this is the right forum category for this question, but....I was looking for some advice and could seem to find the answers doing a search. Please don't flame, I've tried to find the answers, but came up short and am looking for help from more experienced users. Here're my questions:

Just read in the forum that to upgrade to 4.7 one should incrementally upgrade from current version to 4.7. Given that fact, how do you determine what is the current installed version for the core and the modules?

I'd like a module that will show referring websites in a block.

These websites would be chosen randomly, but with weight based on Google Page Rank. There will also be an option to block sites based on domain (e.g. remove all search engine results or spam sites) and by Google PR (e.g. prevent links to zero PR sites to reduce the risk of linking to bad neighbourhoods).

The referrers list would be generated randomly and updated once per day/week/month.

How do I set where upload.module put uploaded files? By right it should default to 'files/public' but it puts my images in 'files'. There is no option for this in Admin > Setting > Upload. Anyone can help?
