I've been over and over different modules, but no dice. ..
The Administer > user module seems completely unsuited for public display. I want site members to be able to see various details of each others profiles eg contact information, professional info etc, but NOT the ability to change each others passwords! If I turn off Access User Profiles, a person can only see his/her own profile. If I check Admin Access Control, then the whole site is open...
So I want a limited degree of access to some form of profile. Is there another module for people to fill in?
I really like the multi-site feature, easy to upgrade Drupal. But, I have many modules that I use on various sites. I could put them in the /modules directory for the whole site. But this makes upgrading a pain -- have to remember to move these files out of the way. I have been putting the modules under each sites/domain/modules directory. But this is a ton of duplication and makes module management a mess. So, before I make any more spaghetti out of the file system, is there a way to have modules be shared acrosse the sites directory other than the main modules directory?
I've planning on starting a site which will include news and reviews on a topic. Is Drupal suitable for this sort of site?
I want the news and reviews to be "taggable" with their content, so say a Stephen King book was reviewed, I'd like to be able to tag it's author as "Stephen King", it's publisher as "Pocket" and it's year as "2000" and user's would then be able to click on any of those values to view other books written by "Stephen King" or published by "pocket". Is this possible with Drupal? Would it require a lot of work to get it working?
i am using the forum module of drupal and i want to ask whether its possbile to create a own title for the index of the forum.
At the moment it looks Forums | Sitename
I want instead of Forums another phrase. For example xyz Forum | Sitename. Is there a way? I already looked in the location for a translation of forums.
