I'm very new to drupal...somehow managed to understand how we can categorize the site using Menus...but the problem i face is that while i can create menus i don't know how to give URLs for the same so i can take the user to particular section of my website when s/he clicks on the link...
I'm looking for someone with drupal experience in Shenzhen, China or Hong Kong. I need someone who is good at customizing templates to create a drupalized version of my web site. If you have the experience, please respond.
I am wondering if I could achieve the following with drupal ;
I would like to set up a site on wich users can upload a file, after wich they will receive a number of 'points' for this uploaded file. These points will be added to their account, entitling them to download a file wich is worth a certain amount of points in its own rights.
This is my first post and I am very new to Drupal, I have only checked out the site a few times over the past few months.
For a couple of years now I have wanted to create a website for the California wine country. I grew up in the Northern California wine country and I have always loved to go wine tasting and to visit with the people behind the different wineries. I want to create a website that is completely community driven. Something like wikipedia.org, but for wineries. The site will give the history of the winery plus current events and sales. I want the site to allow anyone to post and edit content about different wineries.
My reason for wanting to create the site is because there are so many hidden secrets of the area as well as there are many sales on great wine that no one knows of. When you look too many of the wine publications they often only publish information on major wineries and often the small mom and pops get left in the dust. I would love to create a site that would level the playing field, a site that would not only give information about a winery but also their wine prices including sales as well as individuals thoughts on that winery and their wine. Like I mentioned before about wikipedia.org I would like the site to be self governed so to speak.
I have looked at the open source project mediawiki.org but I'm not sure it offers what I am seeking. Any guidance and help would be greatly appreciated. Although I am willing to put some money into this, the goal of this site would not be to make money so because of this I am trying to seek an easily manageable open source content management system I could do on my own with very minimal outside expense. So, in the end would Drupal be a good choice for me?
