What to use, container/category or taxonomy

I have problems understanding container/category and the Taxonomy.

1. Should I use one of them or both?
2. Is Taxonomy an addon to category to further structuring the content?

There is a lot of documentation but none is really giving the clue. They talk about one of them, never a combination or how they eventually work together.

Anyone has a simple explanation?

Comment validation by email weblogsinc.com style

Hello. in the face of ever-increasing SPAM where spam_modules and captcha have failed me, I'm wondering if comment validation by email might be the answer? Does Drupal have this feature or has anyone considered developing such a feature? An example would be engadget.com. I leave a comment there and the website informs me "please visit your email inbox to validate your comment". In my email inbox I click a link and am sent to the comments page where I had originally left the comment, except now it shows up.

Default setting for moderation queue ?

I have set the default for all content types to go to the moderation queue pending approval. But, when I go to administer --> content, the default view of the content list shows all articles/content that has been entered. Is there a way to make the default view on this page just show all content in moderation? (I know it can be filtered like that, but need to know if the default view can be changed.)

Thanks much for help.

How Do I...

I am currently updating my personal portfolio site to drupal 4.7. I want to have it where at the top of the site the user can choose which resolution (for images) that they want from a drop down. When they select a resolution, I'm thinking it should set a cookie so that all images on the site are that selected size. How I could do this? AJAX?

Thanks,
Paul

Thoughts on delvoping *now* (4.7.3 vs. 5.0/4.8)

Hi there,

I was after some input on a small dilemma. For the past 6 weeks I have been testing and developing a prototype website on my local machine. In the next few days I will be ready to start working on my production site. My dilemma is this:

Linkback to Drupal.org?

What is the policy of drupal management about linking back to drupal.org from our drupal based sites?

  • Required?
  • Advised?
  • Optional?
  • Not allowed?
