This forum is for less technical discussions about the Drupal project, not for support questions.

What does this mean please?

I've got this message when creating a page:

thinking about using drupal

Hi,

I am thinking about using drupal, because of:
* the stories I heard
* the great amount of extensions
* the large community
* the professional image

Now my questions are:
* Is the real interface the same as on opensourcecms.com? I ask this because I am not very flattered by this interface and also it confuses me. It says "my blog" somewhere, I thought this was a CMS??? Now I am using phpwcms which is much smaller but has a far better interface. Maybe I can change the interface? Maybe this is an old version? Are there interface improvement extensions or something like that?
* Does drupal use template language like {content} instead of <?echo $content?> ??
* does drupal have SEO friendly urls?
* Is drupal not the same as joomla, like having a large community (including many extensions) but depressing technology (like bad php code, bad interface etc...). Is there a core developers team?
* Is it easy to make extensions for someone who is mainly occupied with graphics design but has some php knowledge?
* Does drupal have different content types, like:
WYSIWYG HTML
images - list of images
bullet list
link & email
multimedia - like MP3, QuickTime, RealMedia, Flash
file list
newsletter
search - full text search
sitemap
guestbook
* does drupal have diferent template parts, like:
automatic menu creation

Pfuhh, many questions, maybe you will answer ;) ...

Modules in use on drupal.org?

Is there a list anywhere of modules that are in use on drupal.org? A number of times I've said, "Gosh, I need thing xyz to work like it does on the Drupal site" and then spent awhile guessing/testing modules and configurations to find out what "makes it do that."

Is there a page out there? I've searched to no avail.

Module overflow; module and theme browsing on the Drupal website.

When I started using Drupal the contributed modules were maybe a handful and I could easilly browse through them, test what sounded interesting and be quite happy with it.

Today I can't even begin to browse through the module list for 4.7. I know some of these issues im mentioning will be solved when the new theme/module thingy is up but until then I'd like to mention a couple things that bother me.

Customizing your home page using the front_page Module

How can I get just the header (with logo), nav bar, and footer to show on the front page using the front_page module?

I would like to then add some content between the nav bar and footer.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,
-arno

drupal clock

I'm looking for a world clock to add to my drupal site.
I would like my viewers to be able to check time around the world.

does anyone know of a world clock that would work in drupal?
