does anyone know why this destination /usr/home/accountname/public_html/sitename/sites/all/here/dis/ would be considered invalid?

hello, I have not been able to find an answer to this. So hopefully I can borrow some of the communities knowledge.

I prepared everything to migrate to Drupal, then I have successfully imported the data from the old site into Drupal7 and am almost ready to completely make the switch.

The only issue I am facing is the passwords. The current data comes from A Classifieds ad's script called Noah's Classifieds. I have the paid version (E-Commerce Edition).

I was able to get info from their end, I am just not sure if I am on the right path here.

I know this sounds like much but I am going to need to export content from my drupal site to excel and pdf... also possibly read excel files and pull in data to my drupal site. Is all of this possible, if so could someone tell me what modules I would need to do all of this?

I am currently making a property site which need the following logic.

1) Users will select a property(content type) which they want updates for.
2) If an update does occur then the user will get an email about it.

I did check out the below advanced actions but it does not meet my need.
admin/config/system/actions/manage

Is there a module which can take care of this ? or do I need to code this myself.

I want to add a functionality in my site that only allows specific email domains(e.g .edu) to register. Ideally, I would also like to allow the user to enter a different email once he confirmed the registration using the .edu email so that he can more easily follow the site. If there is no module for this in Drupal 7, can someone kindly tell me where I can insert a php validation snippet into the Drupal code by checking for regular expressions.

I just got started with Drupal. So far I like it, but still learning the fundamentals. When I publish an Article, how can I select a category for it? I have the category option when I make a blog post, but not for Articles. Is there a different hierarchy here?
