upgrading modules -- which ones? (7rc1)

Hi, I am new to Drupal although I've worked with other CMSs.

I'm going to work with Drupal 7.

My understanding is that Drupal will notify you about module updates that are available.

Does that mean that it will notify you only about official update (i.e., alphas, betas, final releases)? What happens if I installed a dev version of a particular module? Will it allow me to upgrade from a dev to alpha 2 for example?

I assume that this update mechanism will be aware of versions compatible with drupal 7?

Restoring nodes or article

Update as of Dec. 10 -- STILL HURTING! We need information on how to find our article or node files from within a backup on a desktop made via a phpmyadmin. We count some 40 files in the backup, but don't see anything that looks like it could be our old article files. We suspect they are within the "mysql.sql" file. OUr larger problem is how to extract the articles (or nodes) and then move them to our database running the Drupal 7 version. The articles, of course, are from Drupal 6.19. When doing a full backup we have broken the site at least twice and had to start from scratch.

additional tabs in user view

When I click on link to my account I see three tabs: Views, Edit, Track. How can I add next one e.g. Tracker or my custom views page ?

Developing a skeleton module

What is the minimum files and functions that need to be defined to have a module show up in the administration/modules list?

DoceboLMS (E-Learning) module for Drupal 7.x

This module is a bridge between Drupal and DoceboLMS, the open source e-learning platform.

It is in early development stage and at this time can be considered a proof-of-concept.

Once finished this module will provide:

- single sign on between Drupal and Docebo LMS
- user synchronization between the two platforms
- a "my courses" list block for Drupal
- a Drupal block for search the Docebo Content library objects

How it works:
When a user login in Drupal, if this module is enabled and configured, the user will be automatically logged in also in Docebo, using single sign on.

Any new user available on Drupal will be available on Docebo and vice-versa. At the same way editing a user in Drupal will also have it updated in Docebo. We are still evaluating which data can be kept in sync automatically, for example details like the user password, that can't be read as plain text, won't be automatically changed.

Problem with pictures and logo

Hello,

Concerning a new site I am setting up for myself with D7 RC1.. It does not matter which theme I use, the default ones and custom ones all have the same problem.

I am having trouble changing the default logo, if I set a custom logo and upload an image it will simply display "Home" where the new logo should have appeared.

I'm also experiencing a similar problem when enabling user pictures and upload a picture for my user, instead of a picture it will simply display "My name's picture".
