Drupal 7.x

Hello,
I'm trying to create a crowd-source contest website, but i do not know how to begin. I installed Drupal on my PC, but i have no idea what modules to search for. I tried Simple Contest with Drupal 6.2, but it doesn't let me enable it or its modules due to missing dependencies. Is there another module(s) for the type of website i want? I like CrowdedText.com, it's exactly the type of website i want to make, yet, being new to Drupal and website coding in general, i don't understand much of how it was created.

I am new to coding, especially php. I am looking for a good basic htmlmail.tpl.php template example that shows how it really works so I can create own. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

when the drupal's install go to step four,the error show:

Hopefully this is not too hard...

I just installed Drupal 7. I have most recent archive from the old Drupal install including the mysql file. How can I import the nodes/content from this file to my new drupal 7 install? I checked out the Migrate module, but it seems to be oriented towards other needs.

I have the following situation:

Is it possible to set the public and private file system during install of Drupal 7 (in profiles, myprofile.install)? If yes, can some one show me how?
