ctools completely breaks my site

I'd like to install ctools7.x-1.0-beta1, but when I activate the module, the browser goes entirely white. I have to remove the folder from the sites/all/modules folder to bring the site back up. Is this because of a (severe) bug in that version of ctools, or have I done something terribly wrong? Any advice would be appreciated.

Custom menus and nested menu items not displaying

I created a new menu and when I create nested content within the menu it does't show the sub-items when you click on a parent item. If I check the "Show as Expanded" for the parent then the sub-items do display. If it's not checked the parent shows with an arrow indicating it has children. but when you click on the parent link the children do not display. If I change the parent to be assigned to Navigation instead of my new menu then it works fine.

User-level access control by parent node

I'm currently using Content Access and ACL which lets me restrict access to a node on a per-user basis. I'd like to be able to create sub-nodes that inherit the permissions of the parent item. Currently I have to manually assign the user for each sub item.

I could do this with groups but these are cases where it's just one user that should get view permissions and the admin would get really cluttered if I created a group for every special user.

Does anyone know of a module for this or way to accomplish it using Content Access + ACL?

Manage Display - Can't get image to display though?

Hi,

Please see here for the problem:

http://www.drupal.talkford.com/

Note that the top news post doesn't have an image shown, yet the ones below do. They are different content types, but I copied it exactly (old content type is working and displays the image, the new, exact, content type doesn't work).

Is there another setting I've missed somewhere?

Thanks

Nick

Youtube embedded flash not showing up on IE8

I added a youtube flash object to an Article I created. Like this:

What address to connect to alternate site URL?

I've been doing some testing and learning with Drupal 7, and am having good success. Enough so, that I'd like to share my work with office co-workers, and also see the sites on other monitors. I can access the primary site, which is the standard, first site template from other computers using the address http://hostname/ip:8082. This works fine, but I've built a couple of additional sites that I'd like to view remotely also.
