Please help me, I'm new to Drupal and can't believe this issue I've run into immediately.
My site design calls for users to be able to view a list of "Opinions" which other users have directed at them. "Opinions" is a new contact type, it's very simple. Users creating/adding an Opinion populate the title field (relabelled "Username") with the Username of the user they're directing the Opinion at. It's all straightforward stuff.
So I want to create a View (in Views) that Filters on this "Username" (really Title) field so that users can log in and see all the Opinions that have been addressed to them. In evaluating the various platforms for this project (Drupal, Joomla, ASP.Net MVC, Django) I checked that Drupal could meet all my requirements, including this one. There are many resources and tutorials online showing how simple such a thing would be using the old D6 Views "Arguments" system. But now I'm up and running on a clean install of D7 and I can't get it working in Views 3.0.
I built my drupal website in a sub folder of my root directory so that no one would be able to see it until it was ready. I also installed ecommerce in a folder called shop in the root dir.
I recently installed the webform module on my D7 site.
The module showed up on admin/build/modules as enabled and was
installed on sites/all/modules, but the config menu never showed up
even after clearing the cache and couldn't be reached by typing in
the url either.
Now the same thing has happened with the redirect module.
So it's looking like new modules don't work on this site and I'm at a
loss as to what the problem might be. Any ideas?
I am newbie to drupal and I need to create a horizontal menu only for one blocks (the other blocks will use vertical menus).
I have read that I have to do this modification in style.css file:
I'm walking through setting up my own custom fields for the first time. I created a field that I wanted to store YouTube embed code within. I noticed it had a Max Char of 255.I set the number to something large like 111111, and when I hit save I got a red error message, something about MySQL. I figured that the number I entered was probably invalid (if so, it would be nice if Drupal prohibited invalid values).
Anyway, I figured I could just delete the field and re-create it using the same machine name. However, it seems there is still a corruption in the database around that machine name because now I to get the following error on every administration screen:
