Sub path alias not setting "active" class

I have a simple alias for several pages and everything works fine on my menu, all items have their "active" class attached when on their corresponding page. However as soon as I go to a subpage my link won't get the "active" class... So I wonder if anyone has come with this same issue and how to solve it or any work around... thanks!

Example:

link: "music" -> class='active'
link: "music/song1" ->class=''

Node access control for editors on big D7 site

Hello all

We are converting a large website (www.cbs.umn.edu) over to Drupal 7 from static content. The main first level pages have been converted but now as we reach out to convert the 3rd level of pages (100s and 100s of them) we will have dozens of people editing content for these 3rd level pages. Our 3rd level page editors are not as trusted as those for the first level pages so we cannot give them unfettered access. We need a way to limit access to what nodes a user can edit.

How do I output blocks that have content for a certain taxonomy?

I have different sections (guessing I'll use taxonomy for this), for News, Sports, Business...

Now I want to have sidebar blocks for: Recent Posts, Events, Recent Images for each section. However when on the Sports section those blocks need to only show content relating to Sports, so it needs to filter anything else.

Example: The Sports section sidebar blocks for Recent Posts in Sports, Sports Events and Recent Sports Images, and when someone is on the Business section it needs to show Recent Posts in Business, Business Events and Recent Business Images.

How do I tell a article to use a certain number sidebars?

I was wanting to know the best way to do this. I've looked at Panels and I just don't understand how to use it, even after finding a video that gave a decent overview for it. Plus from what I could tell it wont bring in content anyway, plus its way too complicated.

What I want to do is allow users to make a page/article or some other content and let them choose whether they want it to have 0, 1 or 2 sidebars on it. So it needs to easy for users to pick this as they will be doing data entry or writing articles not Drupal admins.

Passing a page view NID to an attachment as an argument.

Hi,

It seems a limitation of views is views promoted to the front page loose much of their dynamic ability as arguments need to come form the URL.

I have a view with a page and an attachment.

The attachment needs to reference the NID of page to show related content and as a result I'm stuck...

If anyone could help me I'd be most grateful...

Thanks in advance.
