Drupal 7.x

So I'm trying to add a field to the user edit page. And it shows up fine, but it won't save anything. If I change the default value in the form and click save at the bottom of the page, the value doesn't change. What am I doing wrong?

i get many links from datatable(id,link_name,link_description),and show them in one form,after i update some values,and click 'save' button,them will be stored in database together.
i want to create a form like this:
link_name link_description
name1 description1
name2 description2
'name1','description1',etc,i put them in input named 'text',and i can update any value.
show together!!!,and put together!!!

Hi everyone,

I want to build a social networking site with basically 2 different type of users ( is it possible?) . Secondly, can I edit the form for sign up and can I use that information later on? I am already working on html/css and php to do this with a friend however drupal seemed to handle this so I want to check here first to see if it is possible to edit database according to our needs.

Some key and value pairs have arrays like:

regions[left] = Left sidebar
stylesheets[all][] = theStyle.css

But how do you know what is the list of possible array options? For example, what array options belong in the scripts[] = myscript.js key-value pair?

I have a number of node types that need to be created - they are identical except for a few default data items. I can't seem to find 7 or 6 on this subject. It has been a big week so far and I am probably just not thinking about the correct search terms. Any suggestions?

I think I saw a module for drupal 6 that was what I needed but I can't figure out how to do it in drupal 7. Any help would be appreciated.
