Contact Attach will now use managed file fields if the Drupal core file module is enabled. If not, a simple file field will be used as before. To complement this change a toggle has been added (that can be set on the module's settings page) to use a simple file field, even though the file module is enabled. Users upgrading from previous versions will have this toggle enabled by default, so as not to change the attachment file field type to managed file field unexpectedly.
This is the first release of a complete rewrite of this module using the REST API, OAuth 2.0, and custom Drupal entities. More details can be found on this blog post.
There is not an upgrade path from previous versions of this module and ThinkShout does not have plans of providing one. That would be a welcome addition from the community.
