I am currently using drupal 6, planning an upgrade to drupal 8 or 9.
I am using the PHP module now but plan to ditch it.
In my content (written articles) are inserted google ads.
The code for the google ads is in a file named adsense-central.php and i call it within my articles by using the php function :
<?php include("./adsense-central.php");
?>
How could i continue having my adsense code located in a single file for easy modification and calling that code to my content without using PHP module?
I have a site running Drupal 6.20.
I understand v6.20 is ancient at this point. There was never any big incentive to upgrade to Drupal 7 because the site is essentially static. No one is inserting new posts or editing pages, and comments are not enabled at all.
This week, i'm doing some maintenance on the webserver and it was my intention to bring this specific site to at least Drupal 6.38.
Today, I upgraded PHP from 5.6.40 to 7.3.23 on some WordPress 5 sites and they're working fine.
So I lost my old drupal6 site when my hardware broke. Fortunately I have a back up of the drupal directory on the root server and the database.
I guess I just need to know what is the correct method of getting my site up and running again. Is it possible to import the database directly into the latest drupal version or do I have to install drupal6 again?
