I'm confident that there's a module (or four) to do this, but as a complete newbie to the platform, I'd be really grateful if someone could take 40 seconds to point me in the right direction.
I want to create a page (block, whatever) that displays nodes (uploaded files, in this case) hierarchically based on tags in a certain vocabulary, where all the nodes (or even better, some user-configurable number of nodes per category) appear on the same page and descriptive text appears in place of the terms.
Is there a way for me to change how the Navigation menu is rendered. So I don't have "sub" links under the main ones, and so it follows the way I want it to render? I am new to all of this although I am trying to figure it out.
I would like to add link classes to my main and side links, how would I go about doing this in a clean way...if you don't know what I'm talking about, I want to make my site's style look like this mock-up I made...notice the "hover" color changes on the top and left-side links as seen here: http://www.streetsocial.com/mock.jpg
I can easily do it if I could find a way to assign links to classes...instead of having to use the divs or spans surrounding links to set the properties.
I tried two themes - golden_hour and newfangled - downloaded and put them in sites\all\themes but drupal doesn't seem to recognize them. I can't see them in the themes section. I could use them with drupal 5.x though.
Theres a problem with uploaded files and using them as attachment.

I found out, that if i turn the download methode to "Public" ... there is no problem. Switch to "private" - this error comes.
Can anybody check this - an maby code some patch?
