Drupal 6.x

I've been running a 4.7.x site for quite some time now and I would love to be able to start fresh from an application standpoint without losing my actual content. What I'm wondering is, can I set up a 6.X site then just import the data (Stories, ForumPosts, Images) from the old site?

During Installation, the step "Configuring Task" does not seems to end processing. It is not throwing any error message but is processing the step endlessly. When i abort the step, it gives me a message that it was installed successfully. Going through installation details, it says "there was some problem". In details i find "Cron maintenance task never run". I tried running cron manually also but it doesn,t work.

hi i am in a process to have a mobile phones blog and i want to make pages linked to the specific menu links and i know i have to use the taxonomy for that but the hanbook for this is very confusing and i m not been able to understand anything so i am here trying to see if anyone can help me understand this taxonomy work better

what i am tryin to do is something like this

I do not administer a Drupal system, but a forum I frequent does use Drupal and the admins there appear to be incapable of fixing a problem with the code tag when used in the forums.

When you use a bbcode code tag, it will cause html br and p tags to show up inside the code box, making things very difficult to read.

I'm writing to see if there is an easy or known fix so I can pass it on to the admins there.

Normally I wouldn't bother, but I care about the community that uses these forums, and this problem has existed for over a year. It's quite annoying.

so i'm putting up a new drupal 6 site for my town...things to know: town is very, very wired, right outside boston, mostly verizon fios and comcast/rcn high speed cable, penetration over 90ish percent, reasonably affluent white collar community, etc...very strong focus on education and school system, town services and so on...

when i first went about putting out sketches for this new site, because it is just ME doing it unofficially, i was thinking all newspaper style, like a fastcompany.com type of site with nice crisp block layouts (panels and views type stuff)...sections like the town newspaper...

but then i realized that the whole point was about 'connectedness' (i know, i know, very fluffy) and i wanted to encourage interaction above just plain readership...particularly with forums and all of that...

so after years of working on highly ornate sites, feature rich, yadda yadda, i've kind of come to believe that it should be super super simple..

Now, I've got a quick question. With the recent release of 6.0, this might be difficult at the moment.

I'd like to add the ability to add images to my content (preferably, wherever I'd like it to appear within the content as well.), and I'm having a hard time finding something easy to use.
