restoring settings

Hi,

I'm an artist and graphic designer setting up a an independent publishing platform on Drupal. I used to work with Adobe software and decided to move to free software for philosophical reasons.

I began using Drupal 3 weeks ago on version 4.7.6 since my hosting provider (mt) has it available as 1-click install application.

I then upgraded to version 5.0 carefully following .txt instructions. Website running smoothly for a week.

I have no previous experience with php ot html. I have used the Graphic Interface to set up teh content and settings of my site.

Today I began the upgrade process to version 6.0 but in the process I got confused between default.settings.php and settings.php and while trying to change $update_free_access = from FALSE to TRUE I got confused between files and lost track of what I was doing.

I have lost/deleted my settings.php file from my work with version 5.0 and have no back-up of such file.

When I run the update.php script I get and installation screen instead of a step further in the upgrading process

How can I restore my settings so I can continue with my upgrade?

I suppose my content is safe in my MySql database managed through my server but it seems that since I lost my settings.php file I can't proceed further in the upgrading process.

How do I NOT display attachments on nodes?

How can I use the Upload module without it making that little box at the bottom of each published page. This is that unsightly little table labeled "Attachments" where it puts links to attachments.

Preferably a method that does not use "display:none" in the CSS - which may get me into trouble with Google.

I'm making an art site where I need the Upload module for uploading images, but not offering them as file downloads.

multisite drupal 6 access denied

Hi

I got a single site install working on http://localhost/drupal no problems, including clean URLs. I'm using SUSE 10.0, apache 2.0.54, php 4.x

I would like to install a second site using the same codebase but different database on
http://localhost/drupal/test

(ie no virtual hosts, rewrite rules only - at least as far as possible)

Main Website, then Multi-Website (mini-sites)...

I've taken a look through the documentation and sometimes I just need to ask someone... here's my plan.

Want to put Pictures and Book Outline Side by Side

Hi. my drupal site is designed to display certain books and articles online. I want to be able to book a cover picture beside the book outline, but the way it is set up now, the picture is in the message body, and the outline is below it.
