Installing Drupal

Oh dear, this is frustrating. I am lost on how to set a cover for handbooks.

I have created several Book Pages, and nested them in together. Only one page is set with the -root- as parent... It appears in admin section as link : book: bah!

But from the link on the front end- NOTHING appears under Handbook... oh why not?

Please, please throw me a line, here.

I am installing Drupal on Apache 1.3.* under Windows 2000 for our intranet. I have a module installed to give me NTLM authentication to authenticate accesses to the site when they connect with Internet Explorer.

I would also like users to be automagically logged in using their NT domain credentials (domain\user). Is there a way to do this currently?

I created the mysql database, tables etc, edited conf.php to suit my needs and pointing to index.php gives me an internal server error (error 500). I tested it on Apache server running on win32 environment (win xp, php 4.2.3, mysql 4.0.1 alpha, apache 1.3.26).
The site install path is: http://localhost/~siwy/drupal/

What could be wrong?

Is there an easy way to create a series of flat (static) html pages as a library of content that is access restricted to a particular class of user in Drupal?

I'm looking at using Drupal for an online community which has a class that meets often. I want an instructors area with content for the classes that only they can see and an area for students with html content as well. I can't see if there is an easy way to do that in Drupal.

I'm not sure if this is a bug in drupal or my webhost, but drupal has worked before until recently after my webhost switched data centers. The problem is, after configuring my user and database...adding the user to the database...unpacking my database tables...and configuring the conf.php. When I try to create and admin account, it creates an account called "n" and a password 4 letters shorter than what I originally typed.

Title says it all.
I have changed it in node.module and created/edited some nodes.
Is there any reason for the restriction and for that my system having 128 car long title will go up in flames when i call a certain function i havent tried yet?
