how do i upgrade from 4.1.0 to 4.2.0 ?

i tried the update.php, but it said

Access denied. You are not authorized to access to this page. Please log in as the user with user ID #1 or edit update.php to by-pass this access check; search for $user->uid == 1 near the bottom of the file.

As my server is located in a different part of the world to the people actually usuing the site I'd like to know how I can change the timezone for anonymous users.

Am I right that the table of contents of a collaborative book has to be composed by hand? Or did I overlook something?

If so, is there a module available that generates the TOC of a collaborative book? Looking through the list of modules didn't show one, but at the other hand, to me this feels like such a widespread request, which can't be too hard to implement, that it is hard to believe no one has built such a thing yet.

Having problems with two modules I recently uploaded:

Image Module:

Kept giving errors when I would initiate it through the admin panel.

The error is:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: la() in localhost/public_html/modules/image.module on line 123

Line 123 in image.module is:
$links[] = la(t("images"), array("mod" => "image"));

I do not know what this error means.

Event Module:

I don't know if I misconfigured something, but I can't edit the Body of short posts via 'administer' link. By short post, I mean a story with only a sentence, so no real teaser/body.

I noticed that for these short stories, in the 'Administration -> content management -> post overview -> new or updated posts', the 'type' field is empty...

Anything I'm doing wrong ?

I'm running Confixx Professional on my host and if I upload the .htaccess from drupal 4.2.0 the whole site goes down -> Internal Server Error. Anyone know how to fix it? Do I need the .htaccess at all?
