Installing Drupal

It would be great if you could help me solve this strange problem:

I installed version 4.1 because I have only PHP 4.0.6 and Mysql 3.23.32
but I had the same problem with version 4.2

The installation and the connection to the database works but then
I get this message when I try to open index.php:

Anyway . I have now decided to give Drupal a chance. I don't understand anything really, but then i don't know Apanish either and if i can learn that - then what's the problem?

I would like to try Drupalon a non-profit site I am running since 1996 - Stop Child Abuse. i now have it on PostNuke mainly cause that was the one I knew about and managed to get running. Previously i have tried Xoops, PhpWebsite and anothe that I forgot.

hi all, I'm new to this web forums stuf and I'm trying to learn my way through drupal.

I'm running on IIS Local server, under Windows XP, you know kind of testing stuff on my pc, I'm using mySql database, and PHP 4.
I've installed drupal according to instructions, I used phpMyadmin to install the database, yet when I open my index page I get this error.

Sorry. I posted this elsewhere and then saw that it was for a CVS.
My problem is with the latest officialDrupal version. Once I get to know how i will delete my other post, so my crossposting was not intended. Sorry.

I just did a fresh install of Drupal 4.4.2 and am getting this error:
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'DB.php' (include_path='.:/var/www/php4/lib/php') in /home/username/www.website.ws/docs/includes/database.pear.inc on line 4

Line 4 of database.pear.inc says:
require_once 'DB.php';

I don't see a DB.php file. Where is that supposed to be?
