Installing Drupal

Hi all,

Totally new to Drupal and trying to get an installation going.

Everything installed OK. Got drupal database created and loaded in Postgres. I saw there was a postgres update at http://drupal.org/node/10622 so installed that.

When I hit my site at http://127.0.0.1/drupal-4.5.0/index.php, i get the following:

i use drupal 4.5.0 and i install email this page module. everything is ok but i want to use email this page module by clicking on it it shoes me 500 internal server error message. I don't think i misconfigureted my server how can i solve the problem?

This is my first drupal install attempt, and I'm stuck with this return when I point my browser to http://www.learning-communities.net :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: user_access() in /home/chay3/public_html/includes/common.inc on line 1914

I just downloaded the German translation file (de.po), but I don't know where to place it in my web directory. Where can I enable international language support? I did not find any hint in the documentation.

Can anyone give me some directions to upgrade from 4.2 to 4.5. I see a lot of 4.3 to 4.4 or 4.4 to 4.5. Do I have to upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3 to 4.4 then to 4.5. Any help is appreaciated. Thanks.
