Changing domain name

I set up drupal on a test domain along with several other CMS's and drupal won hands down. Love it!

Now I have the test site up and running, but want to change the domain to my active one and start switching visitors over (without having to move everything to a new directory). I asked my ISP if they could do this, and they said sure--but that it might crash drupal, as the domain name is often hardcoded in software like this during the install. Here is the pertinent line from my tech support:

Fatal Error: Taxonomy

Hello,

I decided to use book outlining instead of taxonomy for a non-profit site I'm working on, and then tried to disable the taxonomy modules (including context and menu).

When I did, I got this error and no amount of hitting the back button checking the taxonomy modules back on is bringing it back.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: taxonomy_get_vocabularies() in /home/(user)/public_html/modules/taxonomy_menu.module on line 25

Any ideas? Is there more detail I can provide that would help? Help is greatly appreciated.

Gallery Module Issues

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this. Please direct me elsewhere if it's not.

I've got a new Drupal-4.6.2 installation using the gallery-4.6.0 module and Gallery2 beta3. The core functionality of embedded gallery is working fine. Creating and editing albums is fine, gallery users are correctly created/deleted when corresponding drupal users are. Uploading individual gallery items works fine as does adding them from the server's file system.

What's not working are some of the "would be nice" features including:

.htaccess not found

I am trying to get the alias urls to work and i have mod-rewrite installed on apache, but i cant find the .htaccess file and i cant find any information about what the contents of the .htaccess file is to recreate it. I have checked in the un-compressed drupal download and it isnt there either. I am using Mac OS 10.4.2 and at first i thought that the "." would make the file invisible, but i couldnt even see the file using my terminal application.

Is there something that i am missing? Where can i find the default .htaccess file?

Apache Upgrade Broke Mod_Rewrite

[Yes, this is an Apache issue, not strictly Drupal related, but I thought it might be helpful to someone having the same issue.]

Upgrading from 1.3.31 to 1.3.33 broke mod_rewrite. More specifically, it broke the use of matched subexpressions in RewriteRule statements, for example:

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1

Very long time to view first User login page, after follow Create new account -> page can not be found !

I installed drupal 4.6.2, filled the MySQL databes with drupal sql file. I edited settings.php with correct passwords. Now i go to my drupal page for Create First account, but very long time to view this User login page and after click on Create new account link, i obtained Page can not be found! Other CMS working right as Mambo or Typo3. Do you know where is the bug?
