Strang MySQL connect problem - fails only on home page

This is one I suspect my host won't be able to solve . . .

Last night I was testng a script to insert a PHP script with a MySQL data call into a content block in my Drupal CMS. I had a typo in the MySQL server name, which after half a dozen failed queries I tracked down and corrected. After that the script ran perfectly - but now I continue to get the same "MySQL connection failed" message on my site's home page. I get this message *only* on the home page. All the others are working fine. Here is the log for one of the failed attempt to connect:

No theme

Put simply, there is no theme.

http://www.peewit.org/drupal

It was like that, all browser defaults, when I first installed it and since I have been unable to activate any theme. I have installed new themes, configured everything, etc. and there is no theme. All themes are checked off as activated, the default has been set to all the themes (the three that come with Drupal and also friendselectric theme [yes, I have phpengine installed])

New install; Admin->Modules=404

Installing 4.6.3 on an Apache/mysql server

Everything appeared fine with the installation- however after I create an account and try to administer the modules, my browser 404's on me- happens in Firefox and IE.

The following is what it says:

While trying to process the request:

GET http://drupal.johnchitwood.com/admin/modules HTTP/0.0

The following error was encountered:

Invalid Response

Completely new to this- any help appreciated.

Multiple directories in Drupal 4.6.0

I am not very clear with setting up multiple directories reflecting multiple domains with same source tree. I understand that we have to put settings.php in appropriate folder. Is it only necessary, or we have to set the DNS name also to reflect that one. Please help. I have already installed one default domain in /drupal directory.

Database User Access Problems

I just installed Drupal and everything is working, but whenever I create content, it creates the content, but it complains:
